Marianna had an awesome first day at Preschool at Midvale. She loved her teachers and was running up to all the kids introducing herself, asking their names and if they wanted to play with her. This is hard to explain but...during circle time, the teacher tried to have all the kids guess what was in this bag she had by giving hints and revealing certain things about what was inside. After a lot of participation and kids trying to guess what it was (Marianna was convinced it was a duck and wouldn't let anyone tell her otherwise), it turned out to be a bluebird stuff animal puppet that the teacher used to talk to the kids. When asked by the teacher, who wanted to come up to meet the special animal friend....guess who was
the only kid to get up (in front of all the parents, teachers and children) and not only pet the bluebird but proceded to have a short converstion with the thing and had everyone laughing....which I am afraid only gave her more ammo to really ham it up. All three teachers came up to me and said "well, she is certainly comfortable here!!" ....like I haven't heard that before :) I could not have been more proud though! She cannot wait to go back for her first full day tomorrow.
To Compare....Here is a picture from Fall 2009 when Marianna had her first day at Midvale....
We also received some great news from the Allergist Marianna went to see today after school. She was retested for peanuts, and other things...and it turns out there is NO PEANUT ALLERGY!! Next step is to get a RAST test at Beaumont, then if that is negative, we have a peanut food challenge in the office. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!!!!!!!
